  Highlights include reveling in one of the biggest parties on earth, witnessing Rio's spectacular scenery, experiencing the craziness of the Sambadrome, and having Chief Experience Officers (CEOs) manage the details. Included activities are an arrival transfer, a half-day Rio de Janeiro city tour visiting Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, a private G beach party (with a purple costume theme), a 3-day subway pass for street parties with your CEO, Carnival festivities, Sambadrome tickets in section 5, and the Carnival parade.

• Where will I be staying during the tour?

  You will be staying in a hotel in the popular Copacabana neighborhood for five nights. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants, and Carnival festivities.

• What meals are included in this tour?

  Five breakfasts are included in this tour. Generally, other meals are not included to provide flexibility in dining choices.

• What is the physical rating for this tour, and what level of fitness is required?

  This tour has a physical rating of 1, indicating it's one of our easiest programs. Travelers should be able to walk without aid, climb 3-4 flights of stairs, step on and off small boats, and carry their own luggage.

• Are there any optional activities available during the trip?

  Yes, optional activities in Rio de Janeiro include a Favela Tour (approx. 187BRL per person), a Rio Football Game (approx. 500BRL per person), and Rio Hang Gliding (approx. 980BRL per person).

• What kind of guidance can I expect from the Chief Experience Officers (CEOs)?

  A team of CEOs will accompany your trip, providing information, suggestions for activities and local dining, and introducing you to local friends. They possess broad general knowledge of the countries visited, and local guides are also used for specific knowledge.

• What modes of transportation are used during the tour?

  Transportation within the tour includes public bus, private van, taxi, and subway. A subway pass is included for attending street parties with your CEO.

• Is tipping customary on this trip?

  Yes, it is customary in Latin America to tip service providers like waiters and local guides around 10%. For your Chief Experience Officer (CEO), a guideline of $10-15 USD per person, per day, is appreciated as an expression of satisfaction.

• How much emergency money should I bring?

  It is recommended to have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an emergency fund for unforeseen circumstances. Spending money requirements vary, so consider your own habits for drinks, shopping, and additional tipping.

• Is travel insurance required for this trip?

  Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. You will need a minimum coverage of USD $200,000 for medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation. It is strongly recommended to also cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage/personal effects.

• Are there any health considerations I should be aware of?

  Inoculations may be required for Brazil. It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure.

• What are the specific safety and security considerations during Carnival in Rio?

  During Carnival, pickpockets are prevalent due to the high number of tourists. It is advisable not to carry excessive cash, leave your passport in the hotel safe, and withdraw money from ATMs during the day. When visiting the beach, only bring essential items.

• How will I receive my Carnival parade tickets?

  Carnival parade tickets will be issued through the Quentro app. Travelers are encouraged to download and register before travel and share their app email for smooth ticket delivery. Your CEO will provide assistance at the Welcome Meeting if needed.

• Are international flights included in the trip price?

  No, international flights are generally not included in the price of this tour.

• What is the typical group size for this tour, and is there an extra cost for solo travelers?

  The tour experience often includes joining a G party with around 100+ like-minded travelers, while the tour itself has a maximum capacity of 80 travelers. Solo travelers are paired in shared accommodation with someone of the same sex and do not incur a single supplement.

• How old must I be to join this trip?

  You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on this tour. For minors traveling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.

• Are laundry facilities available during the trip?

  Laundry facilities are offered by some of our hotels for a charge. We suggest bringing non-polluting/biodegradable soap if you plan to do your own laundry.

• What happens if I experience problems when arriving or miss my transfer?

  If your pre-booked arrival transfer does not arrive within 30 minutes of clearing customs and immigration, it is recommended to take a taxi to the starting hotel and apply for a refund of the transfer cost upon your return. Emergency contact details are provided in your dossier.
